TOP O' THE MORNIN' TO YA!

Just spent 6 days in Dublin. I was sorta upset because I was there three days shy of St. Patty's Day, but I quickly got over that.

Our first stop was the Guinness Storehouse.  It was previously a fermentation plant from 1904-1988 but now it is just a big tourist attraction.  The building is designed in the shape of a giant pint of Guinness.  If you could fill it, it would hold 14.3 Million pints! How crazy is that?!

Inside, they go on about how Guinness is made.  The four natural ingredients are barley, hops, yeast, and water. This is a picture of 'water'.

At the end of the tour through the factory, you could redeam your ticket for a pint of Guinness in the Gravity Bar on the 7th floor. From there, you get a 360degree view of the city. Mikayla and I decided to pass on that. Instead, we went to the 4th floor and learned how to pour the perfect pint of Guinness!!

TA-DA!! The perfect pint! The guy who was showing us how to said that in the Gravity Bar, our pints would have been perfect.  He told us that even if one drop had fallen down the side of the glass, that the bar tenders are required to dump it out. They are not allowed to serve it because it is not perfect.

There are so many beautiful parks in Dublin! We spent many hours walking through them, and just enjoying the sunlight and the atmosphere.

The Natural History Museum was closed, which I was really sad about, so instead we went to the National History Museum. Inside, they had a small room open with items from the Natural History Museum, so that no one would miss out.

At the National Art Gallery, there was a place for 'children' to express their artistic side.... so of course, we spend a few minutes there...

The part that I am standing on, I had to be boosted up to climb it. There were these other boys on their as well, and this one, being born Irish; I had to get a picture with him! Duh! We tried the whole jumping thing, but he failed.

This guys cloths and hair looked like he was walking into the wind. He would just stand there, until someone put a coin in his can, and then do some random thing to spook them... he looked like a wax figure or something....

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY (yesterday!)

Tuesday night/Wed. morning was a St. Patrick's Day LCR. I bet you can't guess what colour I wore...!

Lisa thought that it would be a GREAT idea to declare this past Tuesday as 'Twister Tuesday'. We made our own twister board and everything - it was a hit.

On Wed., I have to admit that I was a loser and didn't do anything to celebrate St. Patty's Day... I did wear green though!! During the day I walked by the pub here on campus, and outside of the pub were about 200 people sitting on the steps drinking/smoking/having a laugh. In the two pubs, there were probably another 70 people in there. It was crazy. That pub must have made BANK yesterday! They were having all these specials on Bailey's and Guiness and all those sorts of drinks Irish.

In a post from like, forever ago, I had a picture with me and a flatmate named Bob, and I gave a bit of background on him, and mentioned that I was going to do more flatmate bios.... Well. Now is as good of a time as any...

Zahra and Anisha

Okok. That's probably not the most flattering picture of them. Let's try again:

Alright. Zahra, on the left, is studying medicine. She wants to be a doctor. I think she would make a very good one, but thats probably only cause whenever she talks about medic sorta stuff, she really seems to know her stuff. Her room is right next to mine. On the first day that I was here, her and Ruth made me dinner! That was so very nice of her. A lot of the time, she talks about her being 'mauritian'. I think she was born in England, but her family is from The Island of Mauritius. She lived there for a few years before coming back to England.

Anisha: Hm. Honestly, don't know too much about her. I think she's studying something in the science world, but I could be wrong.... She is dating another one of the other flatmates, Ben, but no worries. They arn't so lovey dovey that its awkward... She is always wearing the cutest outfits, looking cute, no matter what day it is.

Harry and I

No. Harry doesn't normally wear 'plasters' on his face, nor does he typically wear reflective vests... This is a picture from another LCR night: Day Glo Rave.... everyone wore obnoxiously bright clothing and painted themself with bright colours so that they would glo under the lights of the LCR.

Harry, I know for sure, is studying something in science. I've asked him like, a million times what, but I always forget. I THIIIIINK its chemestry. Or has to do something WITH chemestry... The only bad thing about Harry is sometimes I can NOT understand him. It's not his accent or anything, it's just that he slurs his words like crazy - always mumbleing... I have to admit, I do love this picture of us though!

Luke!

This is probably one of the only pictures I have of Luke smiling. He never does!! I have put up pictures before that he is in, and I'm pretty sure in all of them, he isn't smiling. I don't know what it is, but whenever he takes pictures, he puts on the most blane face possible. No clue what Luke is studying. I honestly don't think he ever goes to class. He wakes up everyday around 10a or 11a, but stays in bed. He doesn't actually get up to take a shower until 4-6pm, then stays up all night, goes to sleep around 4a-6a and starts it all over again the next day... very funny guy, when I do actually see him... He's also very smart. Knowns little bits about everything.

Last night was the UEA Symphony Orchestra and Choir concert. It was held in Norwich Cathedral which is about 900 years old! It was a really neat experience to perform a concert there. Lisa, Mikayala, and two of my flatmates, Sonia and Harry, came to support me.

The programme was:
Gabrieli: Omens Gentes
Dvorak: Serenade for Strings Op.22
Dvorak: Te Deum
Martinu: Symphony No. 4

I played Cornetto on the Gabrieli and Trumpet on Dvorak's Te Deum and the Martinu.
